Packaging Line Automation – IoT
This project is about creating and setting up a software and IoT automation system for a seed packing line. The main goal is to group smaller packets (each with its own QR code) into a bigger parent packet. Once grouped, the system will automatically generate a new QR code for the parent packet and send it to a thermal printer, making it easy to label the bag. On top of that, the system will provide a secure API for real-time tracking of all grouped items.
How Packaging Line Automation – IoT Works
1. QR Scan (Child Packets)
Each child packet’s QR is scanned by an inline QR scanner, and the data is pushed to the backend system.
2. Packet Count Tracking
The software keeps a live count of scanned child packets. Once the required number (e.g., 9) is reached, the batch is marked for packaging.
3. Product Sensor Trigger (IoT)
A proximity or IR sensor detects when the batch has been removed from the line or bagged manually.
4. Group Processing & Parent QR
The system processes the group, generates a new parent QR code, and sends it to the thermal printer for labeling.
